  Clearance under the bed frame: approximately 5 inches. Optional headboard is 34 inches (39.25″ from the floor). Slats are spaced approximately 2 inches apart. Please note, beginning December 1, 2023, City Bed will have legs attached to the headboard and footboard instead of the side rails.

• SHIPPING & DELIVERY

  Our City Bed Frame is handmade in our FSC®-certified (C156318) facility and ships via FedEx in two boxes, 3 if you select the optional headboard. King and Cal King sizes will ship FedEx Freight, AGS curbside, or AGS white glove. You may receive one FedEx tracking number for all boxes. (The FedEx tracking system may indicate the weight for just the first of the boxes.) Optional in-home setup does not include hauling away your old furniture. For optional in-home delivery, our shipping provider will contact you directly to schedule your delivery. At this time, furniture and mattress and/or bedding orders can not be coordinated to arrive at the same time.

• SOLID WOOD CONSTRUCTION

  The City Bed Frame is constructed from solid wood. No laminates are used. We choose sustainable hardwoods with well-managed growth. Not sure what finish you want? Order a wood sample.

• ZERO-VOC FINISH

  We do not use traditional lacquers or varnishes, which typically contain harsh chemicals that can cause headaches, nausea, and respiratory issues. Instead, our beds use a zero-VOC ECOS® clear varnish from Belgium. It conforms to CDPH 01350 (VOC emissions test taken at 11, 12, & 14 days for classroom and office use), as well ASTMD-4236, specifically concerning oral toxicity, skin irritation, and respiratory effects. Our slats are purposely unfinished to prevent your mattress from sliding.

• SAFE, ODORLESS GLUES

  Our assembly utilizes Titebond® wood glues, which are safe and produce no harmful fumes. They meet the requirements of ASTM D4236 for safe use with arts and crafts, and have both been approved for indirect food contact.

• CLIMATE NEUTRAL CERTIFIED

  As a Climate Neutral Certified company since 2019, we’ve measured Avocado’s annual cradle-to-consumer emissions, offset them by investing in climate change solutions, and started taking real action to reduce our emissions. We also recognize our offsets and reductions aren’t enough. Solving climate change will require systemic solutions. That’s why, through our partnerships with Ceres and the American Sustainable Business Network, we also advocate for state and federal policies that support equitable solutions to the climate crisis. Learn more about our initiatives.

• PROJECT ZERO WASTE

  We’re proud to be certified by UL Solutions for a landfill diversion rate of 85%. That means only 15% of our manufacturing waste ends up in the landfill — we upcycle or recycle the rest. Since we began Project Zero Waste in 2020, we’ve been a pioneer in the space, increasing our waste diversion rate by 33%. We are the first mattress and bedding company to achieve this. • MADE IN NORTH AMERICA

  All of the furniture from Avocado is made in our own FSC® certified woodshops in Los Angeles, California, and Tecate, Mexico, where standards for sustainability and social responsibility are high.
• CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS

  We operate an FSC®-certified (C156138) woodshop — in a facility completely separate from our mattress factory — which produces wood dust. Read California’s required Proposition 65 warning for wood dust.

• RETURN POLICY & WARRANTY

  All furniture sales are final. Defects in workmanship are covered by our 10-year warranty. Please note that this is a natural wood product that will feature blemishes, knots, or other scars in the wood as a testimony to its age, noble character, and singular beauty.
