Triple Cooling Technology Why This One Actually Stays Cool
Most “cooling” mattresses rely on a single gimmick (gel beads, a phase-change cover panel, copper). Brooklyn stacked three independent cooling systems in this build:
- ThermoCool Cover — tech fibers actively wick heat off the sleep surface
- ThermoPhase Foam — a layer of Phase Change Material (PCM) that absorbs body heat when you warm up and releases it back when you cool down, holding you in a stable thermal window
- Copper-Infused HD Memory Foam (4.0 lb) — copper conducts heat away from your body and adds antimicrobial protection
Combined with 360° airflow through 8″ individually-encased Ascension Max coils, this is the coolest hybrid Brooklyn has ever built — and easily one of the top-3 cooling mattresses we have on the floor right now.

Comfort & Feel
- Soft (3-4 / 10) — Best for strict side sleepers under 230 lb who want a true plush sink-in. Excellent shoulder relief.
- Medium (5-6 / 10) — The most popular pick. Works for combo sleepers, couples with mismatched preferences, and most back/side sleepers between 130-230 lb.
- Firm (7-8 / 10) — Stomach sleepers, hot sleepers who want minimal foam contact, and heavier sleepers (230+ lb) who need stronger lumbar push-back.
How It Compares to the Original Thermobalance
If you’re cross-shopping the original Brooklyn Bedding Thermobalance, the Elite upgrades you to the ThermoCool cover (vs. standard cooling cover), adds the dedicated PCM ThermoPhase layer, swaps to higher-density 4.0 lb copper memory foam, and deepens the coil unit to 8″. You’re paying about $500–$700 more depending on size, and you get a noticeably cooler, more responsive feel with better edge support.
