Overview
The Birch Foundation is a beautifully crafted organic wood slatted box spring designed to provide a sturdy, breathable, and supportive base for any mattress. Constructed with kiln-dried hardwood and wrapped in a soft organic cotton cover, this birch wood foundation offers the ideal balance of durability, natural materials, and elegant design, ensuring your mattress performs at its best for years to come.
What a foundation adds
A foundation supports the mattress beneath the sleeping surface. It changes overall bed height and support conditions; it is not a comfort topper or an adjustable base.
Check mattress and frame requirements
Before ordering, compare the foundation with your mattress manufacturer’s requirements for slat spacing, center support and allowable foundation types. Check the bed frame’s internal dimensions and support rails. Compatibility should be confirmed for your exact mattress and frame.
Construction & Materials
The Birch Foundation is meticulously constructed with a kiln-dried hardwood frame, offering exceptional strength and stability. The slatted design promotes optimal air circulation, which is crucial for maintaining mattress hygiene and temperature regulation. The entire foundation is then enveloped in a luxurious organic cotton cover, adding a touch of natural elegance and completing its eco-friendly profile. This thoughtful construction ensures a durable and healthy foundation for your sleep.

What are the benefits of a slatted foundation
A slatted foundation like the Birch Foundation offers several key benefits. The gaps between the slats allow for excellent airflow around your mattress, which helps with temperature regulation and prevents moisture buildup. This breathability can extend the life of your mattress and create a healthier sleep environment. Additionally, slats provide consistent, even support across the entire surface of your mattress.
Is the organic cotton cover removable or washable
While the organic cotton cover on the Birch Foundation adds a soft and natural touch, it is not designed to be easily removable or washable as a separate component. For any spills or cleaning, we recommend spot cleaning with a mild detergent and allowing it to air dry thoroughly.
