I received a free set of Nile sheets for review. Sheet startups are taking a page out of the bed in a box playbook. Create an excellent product with no middle man and pass the savings on to the consumer by selling online. I am starting to see more and more online sheet companies emerging and Nile Threads is the latest company to take on department store brands. Nile is very transparent about where the costs go to make their sheets as outlined in the graphic below. Additionally, they give back 10% of profits to the UN Refugee Agency.
I really like how transparent this company is and the fact that they give back a percentage of their profits. They can do all this and still make a sheet that competes with and often surpasses the quality you will find in a Macy’s or Bloomingdales.
Ordering
Ordering from the Nile Threads site is easy and your sheets ship quickly. With other companies I have reviewed they are sometimes sold out or there is a back order on the sheets. This is because they are so popular and are having a hard time meeting demand. Nile Threads came quickly after being ordered and came in some fun packaging with a nice note.
Findings
Right out of the packaging these sheets felt soft. I knew that they would only get softer after washing them a few times. These are 600 thread count sheets using extra long staple cotton. A staple is another word for fiber.
That means it has a staple of 1 3/8 to 1 1/2 inches or longer as opposed to long staple cotton that is 1 1/8 to 1 1/4. The difference may seem small but makes all the difference in feel between scratchy and silky smooth sheets. Longer fibers are also more durable.
These sheets are sateen with a 600 thread count. As I have said before, thread count is misleading. You can get a 1,000 thread count set online fairly cheap but what you may not know is that they are just using very thin fibers. Anything pushing 1,000 and I would be skeptical.
These are very good quality sheets that will hold up for many years. Right now your only option is white with a sateen texture. I expect this company will start making patterns as the grow but right now they are an incredible value.

In comparison to other sheets I have tested, these feel most similar to the Luxe Brooklinen sheets. The Luxe Brooklinen are listed at 480 thread count but to be honest you would be hard pressed to be able to tell the difference in feel. The Nile sheets may hold up more over time given the extra thread count but that has yet to be determined.
