Jazvin Mattress Review

The Jazvin mattress is a great choice for people looking for a mattress that incorporates more natural materials. While not an organic mattress, it does offer natural latex, natural wool and a top layer of organic cotton. Jazvin is headquartered out of Chicago, IL where they currently have a showroom.

Ordering

You can order the Jazvin online through their website. It will arrive in about a week after placing the order. They have a 100 night trial period where you can return it for free if you’re happy with the mattress. This mattress also comes roll packed in a box which makes moving it into your bedroom easy.

Unboxing 

This mattress is super easy to setup and will be ready to sleep on in a few hours. I didn’t notice any chemical smells while unboxing. That’s probably due to the fact that there are so many natural materials in this mattress. The base layer is made with Certi-PUR foam which is free from chemicals like formaldehyde.

Specifications

The Jazvin mattress is constructed as follows:

• Certified Organic cotton cover
• Antimicrobial cover
• Natural Wool all around
• Organic cotton base
• 2″ Natural Latex
• 7″ Certi-PUR-US base foam

All this material adds up to a mattress that is about 11 inches in height. The antimicrobial shield, natural wool and organic cotton are all housed in the cover of the mattress. Below is a picture of the base foam and latex layers:

Findings

The Jazvin is a bit on the firmer end of the spectrum. Although there is a base foam layer, there is a layer of latex above that which makes it a little firmer. The cotton and wool cover also absorbs some of the conforming that you get from foam. What I like about this mattress is that there is a good transition between the base and latex layer. When lying on the mattress you won’t feel like you are bottoming out on the base layer.  Below is a video of how the base and latex layers react.

Note that there isn’t whole lot of sink to this mattress which is good if you’re looking for more support and ease of switching positions at night.

Finally, I used my infrared camera to illustrate heat retention on the Jazvin mattress. Wool is used in this mattress to help with regulating temperature.

Conclusion

The Jazvin mattress is a great choice for people looking for a more natural alternative to a traditional all foam mattress in a box. You will sleep more “on” than “in” this mattress because the latex and wool/cotton layers just don’t conform as much. That said, this would be a great choice for stomach and back sleepers.
